JUNE MUST HAVES

Ok but you can really tell what season it is by the colour palette of the products above and I love it!!! I'm happy we're moving on from minimalism in the beauty industry (the only realm I can handle a little more extravagance in) and making everything fun again. Since it's summer you know I'm thriving for my usual glowy and radiant skin, thankfully I've found some products that make it so easy. I also switched up my hair vibes since last year, so I spent some time experimenting through dozens of products and I found some that I absolutely love. In typical ~me~ fashion you know I'm still doing the absolute most for an obnoxious highlight moment so I've done the work for you and found the best options. I don't say this lightly but I'm really about to share the best products I've encountered in the last year.

I'll start with hair because honestly it's become my new obsession. I think over the last year I kind of perfected my skin routine so I wanted something new to dabble and experiment in since I've had simple hair for such a long time. I decided I wanted to give up all heat and let my hair grow out its natural curls, so for the past like six months that's been my focus. I'm obsessed with it curly now, it gets so much attention and love. I used to refuse to leave the house if my hair wasn't completely blown out so I'm shocked I even somehow got to this point. The first thing I did aside from throwing away all my heat tools was shampoo, I literally threw out all my shampoo and started researching cleansing conditioners. They have completely changed my hair routine my absolute fave is the Oribe Cleansing Crème, the smell is so fresh and relaxing. I try and only wash my hair three times a week because I prefer to let the oil build and naturally hydrate my hair, but when I do I just throw this on and let it sit for a few minutes and my hair is clean and hydrated. These aren't pictured but I also love the IGK Smoke & Mirrors Cleansing Oil and the R&Co Analog Cleansing Foam- they both are the same idea as the Oribe but I just like to switch it up sometimes. Next, the R&Co High Dive Crème really makes my life so easy since I'm not using heat. On a simple day, I'll just put a drop of this in my damp hair and then lightly towel dry it and I'm done. It helps to flatten out your hair so it's not as bushy- when you have curls like mine it's honestly necessary. When your hair dries with the crème it has such a nice healthy shine and is so soft. I don't even need to speak on this everyone knows it iconic already, but- the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray is such a goto for natural hair, I don't know a person who hasn't used it and loved it. The Solid & Striped collab is literally SO CUTE. Once I run out of this I need to grab the Montauk Waves scent. I also picked up the Ouai Sun of a Beach Ombré, now you all know I'm not the biggest fan of the brand but I still wanted to try it out and I shocked because I loved it. I won't get carried away since it's just hydrogen peroxide and lemon but I love that she bottled such a cult classic summer DIY and added some coconut oil. I put it on a few days in a row while I was laying out and running errands and my hair lightened noticeably, now when I put it in I just do strands to kind of give it that naturally highlighted look. Also pro-tip, you should probably do a hair mask after because inevitably it's a little drying. I also live for fractionated coconut oil (I just buy the biggest bottle off Amazon Prime) that I put in all day whenever I think my hair is getting dry. I am looking for a good curl enhancing product so if you know one let me know!!!

In the last three months I definitely toned down my mask usage, I used to do a different mask four to five times a week. I honestly think I have tried every mask at Sephora and I'm still tempted to buy everything in the new section. However, I have found three ones that I ultimately live by- the only thing I didn't include is a detox/charcoal mask because I just cycle through all the classics. My all-time favorite mask is the Tatcha Violet-C Radiance mask, I'm on my like fourth jar of this and I'm still not over it. It contains vitamin c and AHA's which gently exfoliate your skin to help reveal your most radiant skin ever. If you know me, you know I hate sheet masks- I'm convinced they dont work with my face shape meaning the product isn't fully absorbing where it needs to be. However, I do enjoy having the Tatcha Luminous Dewy mask on my face for like one minutes and then I squeeze the rest of the product out and put it on my face. It leaves your skin so soft and glowy, I no joke use this before I go out every time and it leaves you with the nicest finish under your primer and you just feel so light and fresh because you don't have to layer a moisturizer on. This next mask by Boscia really came for my entire brand of MATCHA and MASKS, I'm not sure who thought it was a good idea to put two of my favourite things together in one typically unrelated product- but I'm so thankful they did. The Matcha Magic Super-Antioxidant Mask claims that it reduces redness and fights the natural stress of the skin. It definitely helps with redness which I love, but I also feel like it has the same effects of a charcoal mask without the tight dry feeling- it absorbs all the oil on the skin and cleans out the pores. I really could only love it more if it were produced by Tatcha. FYI: Tatcha donates a portion of every sale to charity so if the products aren't enough to sell you that should.

Ok so I'm definitely late to talk about this but the Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask is AMAZING but you obviously didn't hear that here first. Contrary to popular belief no one really uses this as a mask at all (I have once or twice but I never find my skin actually needs a moisturizing mask) I just use it as a normal moisturizer- in the morning, at night and even under primer. The texture is so luxurious and soft, I just take a pea-sized amount and rub it in, the product is thicker than most moisturizers so you can see it on the surface but after 30 seconds you can see your skin already absorbed it all. WHICH I LOVE. I don't know what else to say other than I love it- you really have to just try and see how amazing it is. It's thin enough to be worn during the day or under makeup and not feel heavy but then, it's also moisturizing enough to do its job. I don't always want to use an acid based toner (most days I don't) so I started to try out some different facial essences, the Shiseido Eudermine Revitalizing Essence is so gentle and calming, I splash this on my face right after washing and then I jade roll or just press it in till it's absorbed and then continue with my routine. The purpose of an essence is to allow the products you put on top of it to absorb deep into your skin which ultimately provides better results. I haven't researched the validity of that myself but I do know that since using this my skin looks so much better. I definitely think everyone should give an essence a try, if you are partial to using a toner as well you can always use your toner and then apply an essence after which would help calm any redness or irritation if the toner is acid based. To end this off natural and easy I just want to say the Marc Jacobs Glow Stick is the best!!! I received it as a gift from a friend and I still love it to this day. It blends into the skin so effortlessly and gives you such a natural ~post facial~ glow. I also recently picked up the Marc Jacobs Coconut Dew Drops in the limited edition gold and it's becoming a favourite as well, it's perfect if you have a darker complexion and want something natural but still bright- this one definitely gives off more of a highlight-y glow whereas the glow stick is a more subtle dewy glow.
